JR Motorsports has agreed deals with five new sponsors for the 2014 season, to allow driver Kevin Harvick to compete in 13 races with the team this year.
Morton Buildings has agreed to sponsor Harvick's car for the races at Indianapolis and Kansas, while four partners - Great Clips, detergent brand Tide, Bad Boy Buggies and Taxslayer.com - have signed one-race agreements.
The new sponsors join Hunt Brothers Pizza, which previously signed a four-race agreement with the team, and Armour, which has a three-race deal, as supporters of Harvick's Nationwide Series programme.
“Kevin has generated a lot of interest in our racing program from new companies and our returning partners,” said Kelley Earnhardt Miller, the general manager of JR Motorsports.
“His excitement about the upcoming season is infectious and has really lit a fire under everyone at JR Motorsports to match that intensity with all three of our teams.”
Harvick will race full-time in the Sprint Cup for Stewart-Haas Racing alongside his Nationwide programme with JR in 2014.
Elsewhere in Nascar, two other deals have been signed as the build-up to the start of the season in Daytona at the end of the month nears. Black Dragon Tools has signed a one-year agreement to be an associate sponsor of Sprint Cup team Leavine Family Racing. The company will sponsor Michael McDowell's car.
Meanwhile, 72-year old Morgan Shepherd, already the oldest driver to compete in a Nascar event, has confirmed he intends to try and qualify for the Daytona 500, the first round of the Sprint Cup season. He has attracted sponsorship from the Support Military Foundation for his attempt.
