With less than a week to go before the second round of the 2014 EUROV8SERIES, the expectations are high for what is set to be a weekend not to miss for the racing fans. After the opening round of Monza, where the R.R.T. MERCEDES C63 AMG dominated the field with a double win by Eddie Cheever III the championship, promoted by FG GROUP and organized by ADM in collaboration with ATT (Associazione Team Top Cars) will be back on-track at Vallelunga.
The Roman racetrack has a quite different character than Monza’s “cathedral of speed”, and will host two exciting races thanks to a first balance of performance ruling issued by ATT. As a consequence, the show will benefit from a key enhancement and the large crowd of Rome is set to provide a spectacular frame after the 26.000 fans seen on-track in 2013.AUDI will also be the name of the game: Audi Sport Italia will field a third RS5 to line-up alongside the cars driven by Czech ace Tomas Kostka (a favorite at Vallelunga after his great Monza debut) and Davide Stancheris. The spotlight will also be set on the Solaris Motorsport-prepared CHEVROLET race cars. The Italian squad has performed great at Monza. The Camaro model, driven by Francesco Sini, took second place in Race 2 while former F.1 runner Domenico Schiattarella ended up with a pair of valuable third-place finishes on his Lumina racer. The Bavarian banner will be held high by Team Dinamic and Scuderia Giudici. After scoring two top-5 finishes with Max Mugelli at Monza, Maurizio Lusuardi and his team will return with a three-car effort also including Maurizio Copetti and Niccolò Mercatali. Gianni Giudici will also be serving as a driver for his operation, lining-up alongside youngster Jonathan Giacon. Completing the BMW package will be returning Francesco Ascani on a BMW M3 E90.
Former F.1 racer Giovanni Lavaggi will also be eager for a comeback aboard the MRT By Nocentini LEXUS ISF, after the bad luck suffered at Monza. Danish squad Hartmann Racing (operating a MERCEDES C63 AMG) will also be back after having made a positive debut in the FIA-approved series at Monza with Giuseppe Cipriani and Hans Hartmann. Caal Racing will also field two MERCEDES cars, one for Diego Romanini and one for Leonardo Baccarelli.
