Markus Pommer sets the pace in Budapest AutoGP practice 1

Markus Pommer logged the fastest lap of Practice 1 at Budapest in the third round of the Auto GP series.

After after starring between the city streets in yesterday’s road show, the German Super Nova driver continued to impress as teams and drivers of the Coloni-promoted series hit the Hungaroring track.

Pommer set his fastest lap in 1’35”755 to top local favorite Tamas Pal Kiss (Zele Racing), who received a massive support from the crowd. Euronova’s Kimiya Sato took third in front of returning Vittorio Ghirelli, who lined-up for Super Nova.

Female racer Michela Cerruti, also driving for Super Nova, rounded out the top-5 in front of Andrea Roda (Virtuosi UK), Loris Spinelli (Eurotech) and Kevin Giovesi (Eurotech). The top-10 was completed by Yoshitaka Kuroda (Zele Racing) and Michele La Rosa (MLR71 by Euronova).

The second session of free practice will be held at 14:00, followed by qualifying.

Race 1 will start at 11:00 on Saturday while Race 2 will be taking-off on Sunday at 12:15. Both heats will be broadcasted by Eurosport.
