Scuderia Villorba Corse is lining up in the International GT Open at the Nurburgring with Andrea Montermini and Niccolò Schirò behind the wheel of the Ferrari 458. The F1 driver from Modena and the 20-years-old 2012 European F3 Open champion raced together in the last round of 2013 at Barcelona and now, for the 2014 season, will have the number 1 on their Ferrari after Montermini celebrated his second overall title in the series organized by GT Sport.
The Italian squad led by Raimondo Amadio will compete in the SuperGT class. In Germany twenty-five GT cars are expected to take part in the opening round of the championship which kicks off with two free practice sessions on Friday, May 2. On Saturday qualifying is scheduled at 11:20 and race-1 will take place at 15:55. On Sunday Q2 is at 9:00, while race-2 will start at 12:55. Both races will be broadcasted live on www.gtopen.net (clicking on WEB TV).
TV coverage for the GT Open, further strengthened this year, will count again on pan-European live coverage by Motors TV, with major national broadcasters also offering races live in key markets such as Italy (RaiSport2), United Kingdom (BT Sport), Spain (Teledeporte and Canal + Deportes), Portugal (Teledeporte), Turkey (Sport TV) and Central Europe (Digisport), among others.
“We are ready to start a championship that has brought us many satisfactions with a completely new perspective - says Montermini -. We are aware of the hard work that awaits us and of the strength of our opponents. Of course, as usual, we will do our best.”
