TOMAS KOSTKA (AUDI), NICOLA BALDAN (MERCEDES), FRANCESCO SINI (CHEVROLET) SET FOR FINAL SHOWDOWN IN GERMANY
The EUROV8SERIES is ready to re-start its engines this weekend at Hockenheim. The FG GROUP-promoted series lined-up at the German venue for the first time in 2010, when Luigi Ferrara cruised to a double win with a Mercedes C63 AMG.
Hockenheim, which will be also hosting the extremely popular ADAC GT Masters championship, is set to decide the 2014 EUROV8SERIES Champion. Three drivers are fighting for the crown. Tomas Kostka, driving a works Audi RS5 for Audi Sport Italia, is entering as the points leader with a narrow margin on R.R.T. runner-up Nicola Baldan. Driving a Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé, the Venetian will also need to take Francesco Sini into account, as the Solaris Motorsport Chevrolet Camaro is well into the hunt.
Three different car brands are holding the top-3 positions but there also be three M3 E92 from Team BMW Dinamic. Regulars Max Mugelli and Niccolò Mercatali (who won one race at Mugello) will be paired by Giampiero Pindari, in a trio that might be playing a major role in the championship contention. The two Audi RS5 racers of Emanuele Zonzini and Ermanno Dionisio are also expected to be top contenders. The San Marino-based youngster will be aiming for the "Under 25" championship after ending up second at the Sachsenring while the Italian has his sights set on the "Gentlemen" title.
Giovanni Berton is expected to be back behind the wheel of the Solaris Motorsport Chevrolet Lumina and has all what it takes to repeat his Sachsenring antics and also help team-mate Sini along the way. Two Mercedes C63 AMG racecars will be rejoining the field with Leonardo Baccarelli and Diego Romanini, while Nico Caldarola will stay put as a driver-manager for the R.R.T. squad.
The whole timetable will unfold on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th. The practice session, as well as the single qualifying will be 30-minute long. The lights at the end of the pit-lane will go green for the 15-minute warm-up while the single 25-minute + 1 lap race will be kicking-off at 14:05.
