From third in the standings, Villorba Corse and their #1 Ferrari 458 need to close a four-point gap with a thrilling comeback: “It will be tough but we will try everything we can”
Scuderia Villorba Corse is flying to Barcelona for a thrilling season finale in the International GT Open. Italian team led by Raimondo Amadio will race in Spain with Andrea Montermini and Niccolò Schirò behind the wheel of their #1 Ferrari 458 GT3 from October 31 to November 2. Entered in the Super GT class, Villorba Corse will aim to solve a tough and very close title fight. Actually the F1 driver and reigning GT Open champion from Modena and the 20-years-old 2012 European F3 Open champion are third in the overall standings four points away from leaders. Also they are second in the Super GT ranking with a two-point gap. That is why Barcelona calls to maximum effort each member of the Italian squad, to succeed in a very challenging comeback for what would be a historic confirmation of the 2013 title.
“Barcelona represents the end of a very long season - says Amadio, Team Principal -. The whole team wants to confirm its competitiveness in such a demanding championship where we have fought for top positions throughout the year. It will not be an easy weekend, that's for sure, we will try everything we can. This circuit has never been lucky for us in the past but we all are very determined to change the trend.”

GT Open showdown will start from Friday's free practice sessions. On Saturday qualifying is scheduled at 11:20 and race-1 will take place at 15:10. On Sunday qualifying again at 9:55 and race-2 at 13:55. Both races will be broadcasted live on www.gtopen.net (clicking on WEB TV). TV coverage for the GT Open will count again on pan-European live coverage by Motors TV, with major national broadcasters also offering races live and/or deferred in United Kingdom (BT Sport), Italy (RaiSport2), Spain (Teledeporte and Canal + Deportes), Portugal (Teledeporte), Turkey (Sport TV) and Central Europe (Digisport), among others.
