Motors TV Weekend Highlights November 1,2

The nights may be drawing in as winter takes hold, but a quick glance at our line-up of live international motorsport will have you thinking it’s mid-summer. Just remember to keep the curtains drawn and crank up the heating for full effect. The FIA World Endurance Championship resumes in China this weekend with live coverage on The High Speed Television Channel. After back-to-back titles for the Audi Sport squad 2014 looks set to see a new marque conquer global sportscar racing’s premier series. Toyota duo Anthony Davidson and Sebastien Buemi scored their third win of the campaign last time out at Fuji Speedway and the Japanese squad’s TS040 should suit the Shanghai International Circuit. Another successful run this weekend would see them put one hand on the world championship trophy. Meanwhile the Ferrari pairing of Gimmi Bruni and Toni Vilander could wrap up the GT Drivers’ title in China, with Porsche ace Fred Makowiecki leading an increasingly distant gaggle of pursuers. The NASCAR Nationwide Series hits the home straight this month and, unlike the top-tier Sprint Cup, the format remains nice and simple: score the most points and you take home the title. The outcome is looking increasingly clear, with 18-year-old rookie Chase Elliott pulling away atop the standings. Series veteran Regan Smith leads the supporting cast ahead of this weekend’s live race, which takes place at Texas Motor Speedway.A pair of pan-European championships conclude at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this weekend. In single-seater matters the EuroFormula Open title is already settled following a stellar run of results from Sandy Stuvik. The 19-year-old Thai racer has recorded six wins on the bounce – and 10 from a possible 14 this season – to amass an unassailable lead heading to the Spanish Grand Prix venue. Poland’s Artur Janosz looks set to seal runner-up spot thanks to a 19-point cushion over third-placed man Alex Palou.Meanwhile the International GT Open has a thrilling showdown in the offing. The title battle couldn’t be closer: Nicky Pastorelli and Miguel Ramos lead the way on 179 points, but Roman Mavlanov and Daniel Zampieri are just one point back ahead of the Spanish event. To make matters even more exciting, reigning champion Andrea Montermini and team-mate Niccolo Schiro have 175 on the board, setting up a three-way battle to secure this year’s crown. Finally, we’ve got highlights from the penultimate FIA World Rally Championship event of 2014. The title battle got a shot in the arm last time out in France when local hero Sebastien Ogier failed to score for only the second time this season. His Volkswagen team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala secured the win, cutting Ogier’s advantage to 27 points. Despite that setback, the Frenchman can still wrap up his second successive title by out-scoring Latvala at Rally de CatalunyaSaturday 1 November10:05 UK Tractor Pulling, The Great Ecclestone Show11:05 UK Tractor Pulling, Great Ecclestone Finals12:10 V8 Utes, Rd 6, Bathurst13.05 LIVE EuroFormula Open, Rd 8, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Race 1)14.05 LIVE International GT Open, Rd 8, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Race 1)16.25 FIA World Rally Championship, Rd 8, Rally de Catalunya (Highlights)17:25 Castle Combe Autumn Classic19.30 LIVE NASCAR Nationwide Series, Rd 31, Texas Motor Speedway22:35 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run23:40 V8 Supercars, Rd 12, Gold Coast 600 (Highlights)Sunday 2 November02.30 LIVE FIA World Endurance Championship, Rd 6, 6 Hours of Shanghai09:35 London to Brighton Veteran Car Run10.55 FIA World Rally Championship, Rd 8, Rally de Catalunya (Highlights)11.50 LIVE Euroformula Open, Rd 8, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Race 2)12.50 LIVE International GT Open, Rd 8, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya (Race 2)14:20 Blancpain Endurance Series Season Review18:25 British GT Championship Season Review21.00 FIA World Endurance Championship, Rd 6, 6 Hours of Shanghai (Highlights)
