V8 Utes new Brand of Country takes out Major Award‏

Country singer and former V8 Ute Racer Adam Brand has taken out two Awards at the Country Music Channel Awards (March, 12th) including; Oz Artist Of The Year and Australian Video Of The Year for 'What Your Love Looks Like’. Closing the show, he also performed live his version of the Billy Thorpe anthem, “Most People I know think that I’m Crazy”, which was recorded on Adams recent album as the theme for this year’s East Coast Bullbars Australian V8 Ute Racing Series.

Brand will take the video of “Most People I know”, featuring drivers from the 2014 V8 Ute Racing Series, to the Media in the coming weeks. It will also be played through the on-track Big Screen before each V8 Ute on track session at every V8 Supercar round, and Brand is looking forward to the exciting year ahead.

“I’m totally pumped about this year, being able to combine the two loves of my life, music and race cars. I can’t wait to see some more Ute action and hear the song being played at the tracks on the big screen, also performing the song live at shows, seeing people down the front rocking out and wearing their team colours,” said Brand.

Brand shot the video at Sandown Raceway last year, after performing his song on the grid before the final V8 Ute Race and thought it was such a great fit.

“It’s an iconic song, iconic singer, and what better theme to highlight what the V8 Ute series is all about. These guys are crazy, they’re talented, they’ve got no fear, full of attitude, fun loving, they are competitive as anything but they’re having a great time and that’s what the Aussie spirit is all about. It’s what my music is all about, and if I can’t be there racing then singing “Most People” is the next best thing,” said Brand at Sandown Raceway late last year.

Brand has been a long term V8 Ute Ambassador over the years, firstly singing V8 Utes original theme song and then racing in V8 Ute’s in early 2000’s, after being introduced to the series through legendary commentator Wade Aunger.

The Perth born country music singer has recorded “Built for Speed”; “Born to be wild” and “Most people I know” as songs that have been adopted by the V8 Utes as their racing anthems. He has also raced for the Allan Grice, Ian McAlister and Rob Jarvis Ford V8 Ute teams over the years.

With over 90,000 followers on Facebook, Brand is definitely a fan favourite. He has toured Australia and America, lived in Nashville, played New York Madison Square Garden as a support to Taylor Swift, and his new album My Side of The Street was launched last August, which features the Billy Thorpe classic.

He has been voted Australia’s Country Music Entertainer of the Year 6 times and won 12 CMAA Golden Guitar Awards.
