Rookie Vaidyanathan completes Hillspeed's BRDC F4 line-up‏

Indian motorsport rookie Ameya Vaidyanathan will race for Hillspeed in the 2015 Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship alongside South African Sebastian Lanzetti and Oman’s Al Faisal Al Zubair, completing the team’s cosmopolitan line-up.

London-based Vaidyanathan is a newcomer to motor racing but is making the move into the BRDC F4 series following an extensive winter testing programme with the Derbyshire squad. He embarked on his first test with the team in autumn last year and has since racked up significant mileage across the many circuits the series will visit this year.

The 18-year-old is part of the Comtek Driver Development stable, a newly formed initiative by Vaughan Davies who will also act as the teenager's manager. Vaidyanathan recently completed his studies at Eton College in the UK and is now focused on pursuing a career in motor racing.

Richard Ollerenshaw, Team Principal of Hillspeed, said: “We’re obviously very pleased to work with Ameya and Comtek for his maiden season in racing. The relationship was formed in the autumn of last year and since then we have worked on trying to bring Ameya up-to-speed as much as possible.

“There’s a huge amount for him to learn, especially in a championship as competitive as F4, but he’s improving and starting to show a good understanding of what’s required. After enjoying plenty of time in the car during our winter tests in Spain, and since then at UK tracks, we’re feeling confident Ameya will make good progress during the season.”

Vaughan Davies, Vaidyanathan’s manager, said: “Ameya is very much looking forward to his first season of motor racing. After finishing his schooling, he came to us at Comtek and we started testing with Hillspeed at the end of last year. After running in Spain, we have also tested in the UK so Ameya is as well prepared as he can be for his first season.”
