Round 2: Border Counties Rally, 21 March

Five-time champions David Bogie and Kevin Rae returned to winning ways with an impressive victory on Saturday’s Jedburgh-based Border Counties Rally.

With fastest times on all five competitive stages, their winning margin over the non-SRC registered Stephen Petch and Jack Morton stretched to 40 seconds by the time crews returned to the finish in Jedburgh.

Taking second place among the SRC crews were Andrew Gallacher and Jane Nicol. In third and also taking their first SRC podium were Donnie Macdonald and Andrew Falconer. The Inverness crew won the Evo battle ahead of Bruce McCombie and Michael Coutts, whose challenge was blunted with a puncture just two miles from the end of the final stage.
