Anthoine Hubert clinches Imola Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS pole

Anthoine Hubert claimed  the first pole position of the 2015 Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS season at Imola.

The Frenchman from Tech 1 Racing team, having led the second session of the Friday free practices, set the fastest time of 1:42.024 in the Q1. Second and third fastest times were set byJack Aitken and Jake Hughes for Koiranen GP.

Behind them finished the other Tech 1 Racing drivers Simon Gachet (who topped the chart in the first minutes) and Hugo De Sadeleer and Russians Matevos Isaakyan (JD Motorsport) and Vasily Romanov (Cram Motorsport).

Kroatian Martin Kodric, Briton Ben Barnicoat (both for Fortec Motorsports) and the other Russian Denis Bulatov (GSK Grand Prix), rounded out the top 10.

«It’s fantastic to start the season with a pole position - commented Hubert - I made my ALPS debut at Imola last year. I like very much this track and now I am concentrated for Race 1».

The first race of the weekend (25mts plus one lap) will start this afternoon at 5.15 pm. The Q2 is scheduled for tomorrow morning from 9 to 9.15, and Race 2 at 2 pm, with the live streaming at renaultsportitalia.it and the info live on Twitter @flp_renault.
