Having qualified second with Marco Cioci, and having managed a good run, contact was made during the 65th lap with the Aston Martin of Simon Moller.

On starting his second race stint the young driver came upon the Aston Martin going on very slowly since he was trying to let a prototype pass. After having taken a curve Roda was too close to the car of Simon Moller to avoid it.

Roda tried to go ahead with the race but the damage to the Ferrari 458 Italia of AF Corse was extensive, a real disappointment specially after the good performance of the Ferrari 458 Italia N.63 during the weekend

“This is endurance! The major difficulty is that of having to look into the wing mirrors and at the same time as being aware of situation of what is happening in front of you.

"Due to a little oversight one can lose a race, and today unfortunately, is this the case. I found in front of me, the Aston Martin of Moller which was going on very slowly, and at that point I couldn’t do anything else but make contact with it.

"Our car was among the fastest on the track, and our team behaved extraordinary well both in the free tests and in qualifying. Ilya made a perfect race stint and showed that he can be very fast. I am satisfied with the times I obtained, as in the free tests I got the fifth result among the GTC teams. Now I must not let discouraged but focus on Imola. hard work ofthe team, by getting an excellent placing.”
