Onboard ride along
Along with the full-length ‘free to share’ film, The Bike Insurer has also released a bonus ‘ride along’ film of the Silverstone track.
In this onboard video, fans ride with Steve throughout a full lap of the famous circuit, with brilliant commentary, as he twists through corners like Becketts and Abbey.
Both videos can be accessed on http://www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk/silverstone-motogp and are free to view, share and download using the buttons on each video.
Track graphics and speedometer
To keep fans in the loop and more informed than ever, the video also features a track map and graphics illustrating the speeds and gears that the likes of Marc Marquez and Valentino Rossi will hit on 30 August, when the British MotoGP returns to Silverstone.
Steve Parrish, ex-World GP rider and BBC commentator, said: “On the start line it is the most nerve wracking time because you’ve just got time to sit there and it often goes very, very quiet. You’ve got your ear plugs in, you’ve got your helmet on; once the lights go out, all the best made plans go out the window and what will be will be.”
“I’ve always loved Silverstone, it just has so many very interesting corners and one of the other things is they’ve done a great job on the new track. It’s changed a lot over the years and they’ve made some great places for overtaking, so it always produces some terrific races with some fabulous opportunities for passing.”
Geoffrey Bibby, Managing Director at The Bike Insurer, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to work with Steve Parrish again and a privilege to be able to take to Silverstone on the brand new Yamaha YZF-R1. Despite coverage of motorsport being fantastic, we thought there was a lack of real insight into what a rider feels when they’re on the start line and during a race with 80,000 spectators in the stands. That’s why we created these two fantastic films on a superb bike at an even better track. The rider wasn’t too bad either!”
