GLASGOW have named Danny Ayres as their three-point reserve for next season.Cambridge-based Ayres, who will continue with Kent in the National League, faces a 700-mile round trip to home meetings but was keen to race for the Tigers.Manager Stewart Dickson said: “I think he's going to surprise a few people and I believe we've got ourselves a very good three-point British rider.“I know he's not a youngster but he's been a motocross motorcyclist. I think he actually started speedway at a 'ride and slide' day in 2013 and he's made very quick strides since then.“He had several other clubs in for him, and that's not an exaggeration. But he's been true to his word, because I was the first one to approach him.”Kent co-promoter Len Silver added: “I could not be more pleased. Danny's involvement with forward looking Glasgow can only help him move ahead in his career, and that ultimately means better scoring for the Kings, so it is a win-win situation.”

WORKINGTON have announced Adam Roynon as their fourth signing for 2016 as the Cumbrian-born racer makes a return to Derwent Park.Roynon last rode for the Comets in 2012 and enjoyed his best-ever season in the sport - and team boss Tony Jackson is hoping for the same effect this time around.Jackson said: “Adam returns to us in a very similar situation to the last time, having had an injury-hit season with Redcar, which has seen his average fall to 4.39, and in our opinion he is a much better rider than that figure suggests. With a return to Derwent Park there is no reason why, given an injury-free run, he can’t add a substantial amount to that starting figure.“Adam was always very popular at Workington and a great entertainer on track. We have remained in touch ever since he was last here and are delighted that we have now been able to bring him back to Workington this winter, which for one reason or another we haven’t been able to do in recent years. “But this is definitely a move that makes good sense for him and for us and, if he can regain something like his previous form with us, this could prove to be a very significant signing.”
