WORKINGTON have made their fifth signing for 2016 with the capture of Danish star Claus Vissing. The 29-year-old joins the Comets on a 7.54 average having regained fitness after the knee injury which brought his season to a premature conclusion, when he was racing for Berwick.Workington boss Tony Jackson said: “Claus is a rider that we have spoken to on several occasions down the years but we have not been able to accommodate him in the past for one reason or another. “He has expressed a wish to ride for Workington on many occasions and this year, after a bit of negotiation, we are delighted that we have been able to reach an agreement to finally make it happen.“He has plenty of experience and down the years he has registered some impressive scores at Derwent Park, right from the very first time he came to the UK when he made his Stoke debut at Workington in late May 2007; where he top-scored with 12 points from his five outings.”

SCUNTHORPE crowd favourites Josh Auty and Carl Wilkinson will both be back with the Scorpions next season.Auty will be going into the fifth year of his current spell at the Eddie Wright Raceway, although injury limited him to just one post-May appearance in 2015, whilst Wilkinson is set to provide the club with strength at reserve at the start of the campaign.Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “Josh is the perfect leader for the team. If you need someone to go out and produce a big Heat 15, then Josh is your man. We'd be lost without him, and the fans simply love him.“To me, the fact Wilko is on a 5.33 Green Sheet Average is one of those little quirks, because when you look at his overall average last season, he was much better than that. There was absolutely no doubt he was coming back again to Scunthorpe next season.“We've planned the team for next season so that we have one strong reserve all the time. To begin with, it's Wilko, but he's not going to stay there the whole year.”

CRADLEY have announced Bradley Andrews as their first signing ahead of the 2016 National League campaign. The 17-year-old lives in New Zealand but holds a British passport and will make his NL bow with the Heathens next March, following in the footsteps of grandfather Bob who rode for the club for four seasons between 1968 and 1972.Co-promoter Gary Patchett said: “We're very pleased to have been able to secure Bradley's signature. We first saw him rider over here a couple of years ago and even back then we were very impressed with him. “It's not easy keeping tabs on a rider who lives on the other side of the world but he's one we've had on the radar since we first saw him ride and we are delighted to have him in our team for next season.”
