STOKE’S Ryan MacDonald admits he faces an important season as he rejoins the Potters in 2016.MacDonald raced for the Loomer Road club in the first half of last campaign but then lost his place to Paul Burnett, who had initially been signed as injury cover for Shaun Tedham.MacDonald said: “I have to admit it hurt me at the time as no-one likes losing their team place, but I will put my hands up and say I should have performed better. “I’m not making any excuses - it was the right decision for the club. Unfortunately I just wasn’t riding enough matches and I hadn’t got enough practice in pre-season which also didn’t help me and it’s something I shall rectify this year.”
