About TeamBRIT

Team BRIT is a branch of KartForce, set up to give these drivers the opportunity step up from karts to team endurance car racing. Our aim is to build upon the past 4 years of successful team endurance kart racing.

We want to give those that want to step up to a higher level of racing the opportunity to do so, regardless of injuries, competing against teams of able-bodied drivers on a totally level playing field — something that no other sport can offer. In order to do this we have set the bar high. We aim to make racing history and take a team of injured troops to the world famous Le Mans 24hr endurance race.

As the power of sport in aiding and assisting post–trauma recovery are well known and recognised, underpinning the aim of getting a team of drivers to Le Mans are a series of objectives:

Rebuild confidence through competition and teamworkUse the logistical requirements of the aim as a vehicle for professional development within motorsport as a whole, sponsorship and revenue generation and vocational trainingEnhance recovery and rehabilitation through intense and testing environments and through the adaptation of disability to different environmentsInspire members of the disabled community through the demonstration of what can be achieved in the face of adversityWe want to make this a very British project – British racing car, British engineering, British injured troops fuelled by British determination and spirit.

Our project will show these veterans, and the world, that they can achieve goals they never thought they were capable of achieving. They will learn that the more hard work, dedication and determination they put in, the more they will learn and the more they will advance.

This lesson will translate into their personal lives. It will re-shape their thinking and help them re-build their lives, knowing from experience that hard work pays off.

This will stand them in good stead for their new careers and show potential employers that they are worthy of employment.

“You have to invest in the sport and give people the chance to try the sport. Giving people the chance to do something I love doing is great. KartForce & Team BRIT is doing a great job.” Paul di Resta
