TCR BeneluxVolkswagen Golf GTI TCR celebrates two wins in Colmar-Berg

The WRT team brought home a total of two wins with the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR at the TCR Benelux Championship race weekend in Colmar-Berg (L). The team got the first win in the main race of 60 minutes, in which Maxime Potty (B) and Stefano Comini (CH) took turns at the wheel of the Golf. In the first two sprint races, Potty finished in second place twice, then team-mate Comini rounded off the weekend with a win in the third sprint race. Comini's retirement in the fourth race was bearable for the team given the otherwise strong weekend. The next TCR Benelux race weekend will be held in Assen in the Netherlands, from 22 to 23 October.

Engen Volkswagen Cup South AfricaLiebenberg and La Reservee victorious in Killarney

Bradley Liebenberg (ZA) and Shaun La Reservee (ZA) won the three Engen Volkswagen Cup South Africa races at the track in Killarney (ZA). Liebenberg first secured pole position for race one and then went on to bring home a commanding start-finish victory. In race two he was forced to surrender to La Reservee, and finished second. Third place went to Matt Shorter (ZA). In the third and final race, Liebenberg fought back and crossed the finish line in the Volkswagen Polo ahead of La Reservee and Keagan Masters (ZA).

Global Touring CarsRowe and Hodges make it into the top five

Daniel Rowe (ZA) and Mathew Hodges (ZA) secured spots in the top five for Volkswagen at the third Global Touring Cars (GTC) race weekend in Killarney (ZA). A total of three races were held on the 3.2-kilometre track just outside Cape Town. In the first race, Rowe in the Volkswagen Golf GTI crossed the finish line in fifth place. In the second race, Hodges in the Volkswagen Jetta secured sixth place, followed by Rowe in seventh. In the third race, Rowe finished in fifth place, while Hodges was the eighth driver to see the chequered flag. The race weekend was dominated by Michael Stephen (ZA). The Audi driver won two of the three races. Gennaro Bonafede (ZA) also won in the BMW. The next GTC races will be held in Kyalami (ZA) on 22 October.

Japanese Formula 3 ChampionshipMardenborough finishes second overall

With three second places at the season finale of the Japanese Formula 3 Championship in Sugo (J), Volkswagen driver Jann Mardenborough (GB) clinched second place overall in the championship. Until recently, the 25-year-old was in with a chance of winning the title, but ended up being narrowly defeated by Kenta Yamashita (J), with a deficit of three points. And there was no beating Yamashita on the 3.737-kilometre track: He won all three races.

Volkswagen Fun Cup BelgiumAllure and Learder Racing 1 win in Luxembourg

Netcom by Allure Team and Learder Racing 1 secured both wins at the fourth race weekend of the Volkswagen Fun Cup Belgium. Netcom won the first three-hour race ahead of AC Motorsport 2 and Learder Racing 1 on the racetrack in Colmar-Berg (L). In the second race, which also lasted three hours, Learder Racing 1 won, followed by AC Motorsport 2. The Bustin by DNS team clinched the final spot on the podium. The next Fun Cup Belgium races will be held in Assen (NL) on 22 and 23 October.
