Carlin will enter this weekend’s Duo BRDC British F3 Autumn Trophy at Snetterton (29/30 October) with a three-car line-up, running the returning British F3 race-winner Enaam Ahmed, US Formula 4 Champion Cameron Das and British F4 graduate James Pull.16-year-old Ahmed was one of the stars of the main 2016 BRDC British F3 season as he scored one win in addition to four other podium finishes as he finished fifth overall for Douglas Motorsport. Prior to that, the Brit enjoyed success in karting, taking the 2014 CIK-FIA European and World Junior Championships, before graduating to single-seaters where he claimed the rookie honours in last year’s MSA Formula Championship.
Ahmed said: "I'm really looking forward to driving with Carlin for the Autumn trophy! The tests I've done with the guys so far have been positive and I love working with them as they show full commitment to win together. It's going to be an intense weekend with a lot of driving but we have the pace to do well. For now we are just keeping our heads down and getting on with the job in hand."
Ahmed will be joined by James Pull, who showed well in a one-off BRDC British F3 outing this year as he competed in the season finale at Donington Park, ending the weekend with a best result of eighth. The 17-year-old also tasted victory in British Formula Four, scoring two wins and eight podiums as he fought hard for the title.
Pull commented: "I can't wait to drive the BRDC British Formula 3 car again. It’s great to be back with Carlin and I’m hoping to prepare myself for the season ahead with some results in the Autumn Trophy."
Completing the line-up is American Cameron Das, who will be making his debut in European racing at Snetterton. Das has enjoyed remarkable success in his short motorsport career thus far, with the 16-year-old only taking up racing in March 2015. After gaining experience in a number of different categories, he mounted a full campaign in the inaugural F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda championship, where he took nine wins, 10 podiums and six pole positions en route to the title. Das’ performance was all the more impressive given that he won the final eight races of the year in a row to see off his competition.
Das said: I'm very excited to be participating in this year's Autumn Trophy. I believe British Formula 3 is the right next step for me after F4 United States. The competition is fierce, and the car will require me to learn more advanced techniques. I think it will be a challenging, yet rewarding race weekend at Snetterton."
The 2016 Duo BRDC British Formula 3 Autumn Trophy enables drivers to get their first taste of British F3 whilst also offering additional mileage for those drivers remaining with the championship for a second campaign.
