Ahlin won the Pirelli Carlisle Rally this year and showed his speed on WRC stages on the Mid Wales Stages, where he finished second. Both he and Bogie – the 2011 British champion with Pirelli – will be making third starts on Wales Rally GB, and both are registered for the WRC2 category.

Also competing on Pirelli tyres in Wales will be regular World Rally Car privateers Lorenzo Bertelli (Ford) and Valeriy Gorban (Mini), WRC2 contenders Nicolas Fuchs (Skoda) and Jaroslaw Koltun (Ford) and WRC3 challenger Michel Fabre (Citroen).

Australian Joey Mawson, the winner of the German ADAC F4 series – another equipped by Pirelli, will race for Douglas Motorsport along with Jamie Caroline. Dan Ticktum will drive for Double R Racing, while South African Callan O’Keeffe joins Fortec Motorsports alongside Ben Hingeley, a podium finisher this season for HHC Motorsport.

Melker’s Assen double in Pirelli-supplied Supercar ChallengeNigel Melker won both races at the Pirelli-equipped Supercar Challenge finale at Assen in the Netherlands.

The former GP2 driver was dominant in the opening race in his Ligier LMP3, but it was much closer for second with Siggi Pfeiffer edging out the similar Norma of Luc de Cock/Tim Joosen by just 0.149 seconds. After British Radical drivers Rob Wheldon and Steve Burgess were handed a penalty, Henk Thuis took the SuperGT division win in his Puma.

In race two, Melker had a margin of a minute over ex-Formula 1 driver Jan Lammers and his team-mate Frits van Eerd. Rob Kamphues and Leon Rijnbeek finished third in their Wolf. The SuperGT win went to Henry Zumbrink in his Volvo who secured second in the division standings behind Mosler duo Kostas Kanaroglou and Daniel Campos Hull, who claimed the title last time out at Spa.
