THE schedule has been announced for the 2017 British Youth Championship.Early rounds at Peterborough and Scunthorpe are split into two stagings according to category, and the entire series will be run over eight rounds with the date and venue for the finale to be confirmed.Round 1: Peterborough, Sunday April 9 (500cc/250cc), Sunday April 16 (150cc/125cc)Round 2: Scunthorpe, Sunday April 30 (150cc/125cc), Monday May 29 (500cc/250cc)Round 3: King’s Lynn, Sunday May 14Round 4: Rye House, Sunday June 11Round 5: Leicester, Sunday July 9Round 6: Redcar, Saturday July 15Round 7: Glasgow, Saturday August 19Round 8: Date and venue TBC.The Young Lions would like to thank all the clubs for agreeing to host a British Youth Round in 2017, and all of the series sponsors for their continued support.The series sponsors are: Meridian Lifts, Rentruck, PBHS of Barnsley, ATP of Bournemouth, Friends of Speedway, Nuneaton Speedway Supporters Club, Wessex Marine, Speedway Nut, Duck Smart, Trend Creative, KanDysoft, and the ASR.(SPEEDWAY 2)

WOLVERHAMPTON legend Mikael Max will make a rare appearance back at Monmore Green at the start of the 2017 season. Max will fly into the UK with Magnus Karlsson for 'PK - The Final Word' as their brother Peter Karlsson bids farewell to British Speedway (Sunday, March 19, 5pm).The 43-year-old still sits third in Wolverhampton's all-time highest scorers list and remains a popular figure at WV2.“It's going to be fantastic to come back to Wolverhampton for the day and it should be a day we all remember,” said Max.“Obviously the day is all about Pete, but for me it's going to be a special day too because it's been so long since I last saw so many people.“When Pete asked me to do a bit in his last meeting I was over the moon and it will be a special day for the family to have all three of us back at the club that has done so much for us and our careers for one final time.”
