Fernando Alonso’s championship-winning Renault R25 from 2005 is the latest title winner to be added to the must-see World Champions Collection at next month’s Silverstone Festival (22–24 August).
With seven Grand Prix victories, six pole positions, and 14 podium finishes, the iconic R25 propelled the record-breaking Spaniard to the first of his two back-to-back titles.
At just 24 years old, Alonso became the youngest title winner in F1 history at the time – and the first Spanish driver to claim motorsport’s ultimate crown. The R25 also marked the final championship victory of the sonorous V10 engine era.
Alonso is one of 34 all-time greats to have won the F1 World Drivers’ Championship since the series began at Silverstone in 1950. Marking the 75th anniversary of that historic moment, the World Champions Collection will honour all 34 legends who have claimed the most prestigious prize in global motorsport.
“Alonso is one of three World Champions on the current Formula 1 grid, and his infectious passion for the sport has long made him a fan favourite,” said Nick Wigley, Event Director. “We are delighted that Alpine F1 – the evolution of the Renault F1 Team – is sharing the first of Fernando’s title-winning cars with all of us at the Festival. Its presence will bring even more star quality to the incredible World Champions Collection.”
While the World Champions Collection will be the headline attraction marking Formula 1’s 75th anniversary over the Bank Holiday weekend, the Festival’s packed-programme of 20 thrilling retro races will feature five evocative showdowns for the ever popular F1 cars from yesteryear on the race card.
Taking place over the end-of-summer Bank Holiday weekend, the Festival is packed with on- and off-track activities for all ages. Children aged 15 and under can attend free with a paying adult. All tickets include access to an incredible line-up of family-friendly entertainment – including live music from Natasha Bedingfield, Craig David presents TS5, and Ministry of Sound Classical in 2025 – plus traditional funfair rides, stunt shows, and much more.
