• Not-to-be-missed star cars on and off the famous Grand Prix circuit
• From up-close modern day F1 icons to raucous dragster burn-outs
• Wide range of tickets available – best prices for advance bookings
With over 800 race entries and thousands of cherished classics on show over the Bank Holiday weekend (22-24 August), car-loving Silverstone Festival visitors are truly spoilt for choice.
Both racing paddocks are overflowing with much-loved track stars from all of motorsport’s golden eras, while the central display areas are packed with an incredible mix of treasured models. These range from eye-catching Ferraris and Lamborghinis to endearing TRs and MGs – many of which were once regular sights on our roads. Silverstone Festival is, without a doubt, a petrolhead’s paradise.
With so much to see both on and off the famous Grand Prix track, selecting just ten must-see cars
and attractions is a challenge – everyone will have their own personal highlights. And when the gates open, there will be plenty of surprises, too.
To provide a head start, here are ten of our predicted Bank Holiday crowd-pleasers at the 2025 Silverstone Festival:
The World Champions Collection
With Formula 1 celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, the Festival is paying tribute to all 34 drivers who have claimed the sport’s ultimate prize: the F1 World Championship title. In a remarkable timeline spanning from 1950 to 2025, cars raced by every one of those champions from Giuseppe Farina to Max Verstappen will be showcased as part of the World Champions Collection display. This once-in-a-lifetime showcase is simply unmissable.
2006 Range Rover L322
While a standard old Range Rover might not turn many heads, this custom-built V8 supercharged example is something special – not least because it comes by Royal Appointment. Once owned by the late Queen Elizabeth II, it features a silver labrador mascot on the bonnet. It will be going under the hammer with Iconic Auctioneers at their Iconic Sale as part of Silverstone Festival.
Hands-on Formula 1 Experiences
As the home of the British Grand Prix, Silverstone has a rich Formula 1 heritage – and the Festival builds on that legacy with the full backing of five current F1 teams. Alpine, Red Bull, McLaren, Mercedes, and Williams are all showcasing their title winners in the World Champions Collection. Both the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team and Atlassian Williams Racing will also feature an exciting line-up of hands-on, interactive activities that no F1 fan should miss. Mercedes invites visitors to take part in a unique F1 pit-stop challenge, while Williams brings an all-new immersive family experience to the Fan Zone, complete with esports sim rigs and STEM stations.
RML P39
Even the official Safety Car is a showstopper at Silverstone Festival. Track duties this month will be handled by RML Group’s sensational new P39 hypercar. Based on the formidable Porsche 992.1 Turbo S, just 39 of these technical marvels will be produced – making sightings super rare.
Red Bull RB17
Festival partner Michelin will be showcasing the incredible RB17 – Red Bull Racing’s first production car. Primarily designed by the team’s now-departed technical guru, Adrian Newey, the RB17 boasts a two-seater carbon monocoque chassis and a mid-mounted V10 engine. Only 50 are being made, with starting prices at a cool £5 million. It looks incredible!
Jaguar XJS and Lotus Esprit
Two legendary British sportscars – the Jaguar XJS and Lotus Esprit – celebrate their 50th birthdays in 2025. Both will mark the milestone with golden anniversary track parades organized by their respective car clubs. Other marques and models with significant birthdays will also take to the famous Silverstone Grand Prix circuit over the weekend.
Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500
With the world’s top retro racing grids reigniting old rivalries on track, the race card is bursting with iconic pace-setters from years gone by. Among them, the flame-spitting, tail-wagging Sierra RS500s are perennial crowd favourites. This year, they will compete for a one-off trophy, dedicated to and presented by tin-top legend Andy Rouse.
Dragsters
By popular demand, Santa Pod is returning to Silverstone Festival this summer, bringing back the incredible sights, sounds, and smells of dragsters to the event’s Shift & Drift Zone. Expect daily dragster fire-ups – including a special appearance from the incredible Jet Car, Fireforce 3. There’s also ready-to-rumble Hot Rod cruises, revved-up rally car displays from Slowly Sideways, and epic driving stunts from the ultimate showman, Terry Grant.
Jowett Jupiter
Silverstone Festival always stirs up nostalgia with fond memories of cherished manufacturers and motors from days gone by. One such gem is the Jowett Jupiter – a stylish British sportscar from Yorkshire dating back to the early 1950s. The Jupiter famously scored a 1-2 class win at Le Mans in 1950, and 75 years on, three of them will be racing in Saturday morning’s evocative Woodcote Trophy for period sports-racers. A further 20 plus road-going cars will also be on display with the Jowett Car Club.
1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
The Festival is never lacking mighty V8 muscle cars from the other side of the Atlantic – but the #30 Corvette Stingray entered in Saturday afternoon’s International Trophy for Classic GT cars is sure to attract special attention – it is being raced by the inspirational Olympic cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy.
While the cars are very much the stars, taking place over the end-of-summer Bank Holiday weekend, the Silverstone Festival is packed with on- and off-track activities for all ages. All tickets include access to an incredible line-up of family-friendly entertainment – including live music from Natasha Bedingfield, Craig David presents TS5, and Ministry of Sound Classical – plus a mouthwatering Foodie Fest, artisan market, traditional funfair rides, stunt shows, and much more.
Entry to both paddocks, open trackside grandstand seating and the award-winning Silverstone Museum are all included in the price of admission. Providing yet more value for money, children aged 15 and under can attend free with a paying adult.
