Yorkshire date for John Guest Racing
Mike and Andrew Jordan will tackle the technically challenging Croft circuit during the next three rounds of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship (31 May/1 June).Rounds 13, 14 and 15 of the 2008 BTCC at the Croft circuit in North Yorkshire come after Andrew's starring role over the last two BTCC weekends. At Donington Park he claimed a pair of Independent Trophy wins, while at Thruxton he ran a superb second overall to Jason Plato in the third race of the day. Andrew was only sidelined when some debris on the track damaged a wheel speed sensor and sent his engine's ECU into limp-home mode.It has already been a great season for Mike (50) and Andrew (19) as they team up in the pair of Honda Integras from John Guest Racing and Mike's podium pace at Croft last season points to another strong weekend for the team. For Andrew, who celebrates his 19th birthday today (Friday 23 May) it will be another opportunity to show the sensational speed that catapulted him into the BTCC spotlight at Thruxton.Despite not finishing the third race, Andrew was elated at being able to run among the biggest names in the BTCC and his performance at Thruxton drew widespread acclaim. "It was good to be racing with people like that and it's the best way to learn. It was an amazing day. I think I proved a lot at Thruxton and I'm really looking forward to Croft."But Mike also enjoys the challenge of Croft and relishes the prospect of racing at the Darlington venue. "Croft is a great track and always gets a good crowd," said Mike. "It has got the slowest hairpin of anywhere we go and it's got the huge high-speed challenge of the Jim Clark Esses, with not much run off. So it's a circuit of real contrast."After qualifying at Croft on Saturday, the first of three BTCC races will start at 12noon on Sunday. All of the action will be broadcast on ITV4, with a programme running from 12.30pm to 5.30pm, with live coverage of the second and third races of the day.
