Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB at Paul Ricard: yet another pole!
The French Paul Ricard HTTT circuit at Le Castellet is this weekend hosting Ferrari Racing Days, including the third round of the Italian and European series of the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy, which also sees in action the gentlemen drivers in the Shell Cup, as well as runs for the historic Formula 1 cars, run by the F1 Clienti of Maranello department. Also on the card, the second round of the European Shell Ferrari Historic Challenge, featuring 39 four wheeled historic jewels taking to the track.
An action packed programme welcomed Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB supporters at the French circuit Saturday, with Qualifying sessions for both Race 1 and 2 of the Ferrari Challenge Coppa Shell European in the morning, and Race 1 in the late afternoon. The opening rounds of free practice and qualifying practice started under variable weather on Friday, with mild temperatures and several rains showers over the day. Best opportunity for the Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB drivers to demonstrate their expertise and mastery on wet conditions as well.
The Team, which completed an extraordinary start this weekend with an excellent display in both Qualifying 1 and 2, has four cars in total, with two of them competing under the Team Vertu Racing banner and two in Ferrari Challenge Dealer team GB livery. All cars are driven by Ferrari clients who are taking part in the world’s most prestigious racing series for gentleman drivers.
It was an early start this morning for the Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB which once again secured a stunning 1-2 on the starting grid with Team Vertu Racing driver Jamie Constable, car 127, finishing second after Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB mate Jean-Marc Bachelier in Car 129 snatching the pole after having put in an impressive series of laps. Team Vertu Racing driver Mike Cantillon will start Race 1 from the 4th row pushing hard to improve his position at the end of the day. Also in the line up is Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB driver Jack Gerber, car 126, enjoying his first season within this series.
For the Sunday’s race in Qualifying 2 the Team confirmed the pace with another excellent second and third position: Jamie starts second on the grid followed by Mike Cantillon on position number three. Jannick Mallegol in car 129 is starting eleventh whereas Jack in car 126 is following in position 21. Everything is ready for a thrilling Saturday afternoon at Glorious Paul Ricard!
In the paddock area, the Ferrari Challenge Dealer Team GB also hosted Ferrari clients and VIP guests to the team hospitality units which really set the standard in the pitlane.
