the Transorientale rally-raid!

The world of rally-raid is currently undergoing some major changes as the famous Dakar leaves Africa for South America. However, the Transorientale, organised by René Metge, has followed a different direction to the east; for its first edition, the course, from the 12-28 June, will link St Petersburg in Russia to Beijing in China via Astana in Kazakhstan. Motors TV, the exclusive pan-European broadcaster of the Transorientale, will allow viewers to live the race as if they were there.

Each day’s highlights will be screened every night in a 26 minute show (broadcast at 9pm and repeated at 11.30pm) presented alternatively by Mark Cole and Steve Slater.

Thanks to reports from the race and about the countries visited, as well as news from each evening’s stop overs, TV viewers will discover a very different rally-raid where competitors will brave more than 10,000kms of difficult landscape and discover the Asian continent, its people and its culture.
