N.TECH. tests in Brno

N.Technology took to the Automotodrom Brno track yesterday for the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) official test day, ahead of this weekend's race meeting in the Czech Republic.

Driver James Thompson set a best time of 2:10.276, good enough for seventh place, completing a total of 43 laps throughout the day. With the 5.4km circuit recently resurfaced, today was crucial for WTCC teams to accustom themselves to the new asphalt as Thompson explains:

"The track is very smooth," said the double British Touring Car Champion who scored his first world championship point two weeks ago in Pau, France. "It's a very good surface; they've done a good job with it. We're still to see how it affects the cars completely but times are expected to be faster than last year.

"As for this weekend, we hope to have moved up from our performance in Pau and are aiming for the top eight. Today's times are encouraging but we will know more after free practice and qualifying!"
