Motors TV September Highlights

 IT’S ALREADY FINALS TIME

There are a handful of motorsport championships that begin their season early in the calendar year and finish it by the end of the summer.

That is the case for the Le Mans Series where the dominant diesels, the Peugeot 908 and the Audi R10, have battled throughout the year. A titanic fight reached its climax during the Le Mans 24 Hours, but has also been staged season-long at five 1000km races at some of Europe’s most beautiful circuits: Barcelona, Monza, Spa, the Nürburgring and Silverstone.

The British track welcomes the final round of the season on Sunday 14th September. A not-to-be-missed meeting will see the two endurance racing powerhouses go head to head for the last time in 2008, with Peugeot eager to forget their failure at Le Mans, where the French marque, despite having the faster cars, eventually lost to Audi…The race can be followed on Motors TV, thanks to four and a half hours of LIVE coverage

Each round provides an incredible spectacle, usually with three races per meeting, but three meetings per season don’t follow this model: Adelaide (opening round, two races) and most specifically the two rounds which take place in September and October, at Phillip Island and Bathurst, both of which are single endurance races. Both events see two drivers per car and take place over a much longer race distance than usual (500km in Phillip Island, 1000km in Bathurst). The ninth round of the year takes place at Phillip Island, south of Melbourne. The circuit already hosts Moto GP and World Superbikes and is situated by the seaside, providing a technical challenge to the teams and drivers as sand often blows onto the racing surface.Motors TV, the exclusive broadcaster of V8 Supercars, bring the race in full on the afternoon of Sunday 14th September DELAYED-AS-LIVE! Four hours of pure drama from the other side of the world.
