Team Rosberg is best Audi team at Hockenheim

Team Rosberg's form curve headed skywards at its home race at Hockenheim and collected important championship points during the third ADAC GT Masters race weekend. Furthermore, with a brace of sixth places and a seventh position the team under Team Boss Arno Zensen was also the best team fielding Audi R8 LMS at the Baden track. However, Team Rosberg had an enormous challenge to master the week before Hockenheim. Due to the heavy accident at last weekend's FIA GT3 European Championship race in Brno the team had to completely rebuild one of the two Audi R8 LMS within just three days. Nevertheless the two Rosberg driver crews of Johannes Seidlitz/Bernd Herndlhofer and Kenneth Heyer/Michael Ammermüller posted a promising performance in qualifying. In first qualifying former DTM driver Seidlitz took sixth position, Heyer was twelfth after his best time was disallowed for leaving the boundaries of the track. 'Without the time being disallowed I would certainly have been further up as we had no problems today," said the German. In second qualifying Ammermüller was the fastest Audi driver in seventh, Herndlhofer was twelfth. The first race on Saturday started with a shock for Team Rosberg when Johannes Seidlitz was forced into a spin in the opening stages by a Corvette and dropped to the back of the field. Afterwards both the team's Audi R8 LMS proved their speed as they carved through the field. Heyer and Ammermüller quickly fought thier way into the top ten and took the chequered flag in sixth place after an hour. The Seidlitz/Herndlhofer duo were tenth. Team Rosberg collected points with both cars in Sunday's second race. Seidlitz/Herndlhofer claimed thier best result of the season with sixth place, thier team mates Heyer/Ammermüller crossed the finish line directly behind in seventh. As a result, Team Rosberg was the most successful Audi team as they were in the first race. 'Congratulations and a big thank you to the entire team," said Arno Zensen. 'It was a great performance to have completely rebuilt the car in such a short space of time. For this reason it was a great reward to have scored points with both cars for the first time this season in the second race. We extracted the absolute maximum from the Audi here at Hockenheim. It won't go any quicker at the moment. Praise also to the drivers, who showed themselves to be genuine team players. In the second race they supported one another and let one another pass when the car behind was faster." The next ADAC GT Masters races will be held on 17 and 18 July at Assen (NL).
