(SPEEDWAY 1) WORKINGTON have signed American ace Kenny Ingalls who will make his debut at Edinburgh on Friday. Ingalls, 22, will replace local lad John Branney who has seen his form dip in recent weeks. Comets team manager Ian Thomas said: "It's always hard having to tell a rider that he is being dropped from the team and in John Branney's case it was particularly difficult. Everyone knows he is totally committed to Workington Comets and has always given 100% and more. "We just felt that it was time to make a change and with a rider of Ingalls' potential available we had to move quickly." (SPEEDWAY 2) NEWPORT Hornets boss Kevin Brown says Sunday's meeting with Bournemouth is a clash of potential league champions. Hornets are on a fine run of form and host the Dorset side at their Hayley Stadium track (2.30). Brown said: "Many in the sport regard this match as an indication as to which team could win the league title eventually. "Bournemouth are again clearly one of the leading sides but the Hornets are very solid and have been on consistent good form since April. A good afternoon's racing is on the agenda." (SPEEDWAY 3)GREAT Britain boss Rob Lyon is urging supporters to back the national team in next month's World Cup first round event at King's Lynn.GB face Australia, Sweden and Finland on July 26 looking to book a place in the final stages in Denmark, with adult standing tickets pegged at £15 before the end of June - and a reduction for families.Lyon said: "We'd like to see as many fans at the Norfolk Arena as we can, to really get behind the boys. We put on a really good show at Peterborough at this stage last year and this time around we want to go one stage better and make the Final. Whether that be from the first meeting in King’s Lynn or from the race-off  we don’t really mind.“Last year we had a lot of young riders in the team and this year we have various alternatives that we can look at, a few more riders who are on form.It will probably be a harder decision. "We are looking for more progress and the support from thousands of British fans at King’s Lynn would be a real boost for the boys.”Tickets are available from the UK hotline on 0871 231 0841 or online at speedwaygp.com .
