RYE House have made a team change ahead of their Premier Trophy semi-final against Birmingham with Lee Strudwick promoted into the Rockets' team.Strudwick, who has scored well for the club in the National League this season, comes in to replace Australian rider Kurt Shields, and will line up against the Brummies and Somerset in Sunday's double-header at Hoddesdon.Promoter Len Silver said: "We felt that Kurt had enough chances to prove himself, but that it was now time for someone else to be given that opportunity. "Lee has proved himself this season with the Kart Raceway Cobras. He was also our match-winner (with paid 8) when we called him up to the Rockets against Sheffield, and it was only fair that he be given this further chance now. "He will be using engines prepared especially by (former World Champion) Michael Lee to get him off to the best possible start."(SPEEDWAY 2)GLASGOW have confirmed that former British Champion Joe Screen is now a full asset of the club.Screen, who made a successful debut for the Tigers last week, had already committed to 2011 with the club and looks set to see out his career at Ashfield.Co-promoter Gordon Pairman said: "I had set myself a target of getting Joe Screen in to ride for Glasgow and we managed to do just that last week. "I was also pleased to have him contracted for 2011 as well, but I am now also able to confirm that we have made Joe a full time Tigers asset, which means we should have first call on his services for however long he wishes to race. "On top of the good news of last week, this news I think will be another vital piece in the jigsaw and hopefully we can build on the victories over three difficult meetings in three days."(SPEEDWAY 3)NEWPORT and Glasgow have both enjoyed much-improved results of late - and the two sides go head to head in South Wales on Friday evening (7pm).It's a rare Friday home fixture for Newport, who are waiting for a fitness report on Kyle Legault who suffered leg and ankle injuries in a crash in his World Championship qualifier last weekend. The Wasps will definitely be missing young Swede Anders Mellgren due to a broken collarbone, with the club attempting to sign a new rider.Co-boss Kevin Brown said: "Although we won away at Scunthorpe and home against Berwick in our most recent fixtures and climbed to tenth in the table I am in no doubt that the acquisition of a rider of Joe Screen's pedigree by Glasgow shows their determination to claw their way out of the bottom three. "We must be on top form against their heat leaders and I do rate Josh Grajczonek as a rising star as well as the experienced Screen and (Travis) McGowan. Importantly we must gain the balance of points against their lesser lights. It is going to be an intriguing contest."

ISLE Of Wight bosses have given their backing to their riders after their home defeat against Newport in the National League on Tuesday. The 54-41 reverse was the Islanders' third successive home loss, although the club have pointed to a tough run of fixtures of late.Co-boss Kev Shepherd said: "We are well aware that things are not going well but the Islanders have never had the reputation of being a 'hire-them fire-them' promotion, and the team has our backing, "It's just strange that nearly all of the team are going through a bad patch together, but we win as a team and we lose as a team. Before our next fixture we will have a chat with the riders to get to the bottom of the problems."
