SWINDON staged a dramatic recovery from twelve points down to snatch a 47-46win at Ipswich. The Robins took the lead for the first time with a 5-1 in Heat 14, and Leigh Adams and Mads Korneliussen tucked in behind Witches star Scott Nicholls for a vital shared heat in the decider.Robins boss Ronnie Russell said: "In recent away meetings we've been making excellent progress in the early stages but let our concentration slip towards the end."Unbelievably the victory against Ipswich was completely vice versa and we concluded the meeting in emphatic style."The Swindon team has once again shown what they are capable of. We must now aim to carry this momentum into our upcoming fixtures."The Robins were not the only away winners on the night as Wolverhampton moved to within a point of second-placed Lakeside with a 48-45 win at Eastbourne, who suffered the loss of Dawid Lampart with a broken collarbone.

EDINBURGH have axed German reserve Max Dilger and replaced him with23-year-old Scotsman Cal McDade.Dilger was expected to improve his three-point average after a stint with the Monarchs last year, but he has not lived up to expectations.Club director Mike Hunter said: "Max has had some good results, but too often things haven't gone right for him."He hasn't been helped by the after-effects of his dislocated shoulder sustained at Workington. Max is very popular behind the scenes and everyone wishes him well."Cal has put everything into his attempts to break through, and he now gets his big chance to impress at Armadale."
(SPEEDWAY 3) SOMERSET will have a new No.1 rider making his debut in their home clash with Berwick on Friday. The Rebels have parted company with Lubos Tomicek but have not named their new man, except to say that he has Elite League experience.A management spokesman said: "We have left it to the last possible moment to allow Lubos to regain his form, but we had to make the team change prior tohim obtaining a new green sheet average, which could have see him drop to reserve and the team lose vital points for any future replacement."We would like to thank Lubos for all his efforts and hope that he finds another team place in the near future. He has been extremely easy to deal with and we were all hoping that his form would pick up, even to the extent of other team riders loaning him equipment in an attempt to help him."
