Rally of Scotland tickets go on sale

Only chance to see IRC in UKTicket prices cut significantly for 2010Greater flexibility and access for fansTickets come with free official programme

Tickets offering greater flexibility and better value for money for fans on this October’s RACMSA Rally of Scotland – the penultimate round of the 2010 Intercontinental Rally Challenge – have officially gone on sale today (Fri 18 June).

Options include an Alba Rally Pass for £45.00 (offering access to all the competitive special stages and service areas on all three days of the event) plus individual day passes at £20 for either Saturday or Sunday. These again offer access to all the action and service areas on the day for which they are purchased (as opposed to parking for just one timed section as in 2009). Fans can even watch the event’s opening two night-time special stages in the grounds of Scone Palace for just £10.

Indeed, prices are significantly less compared to last year and all tickets bought in advance will come with a free official Rally of Scotland spectator programme worth £6.50. Furthermore, accompanied children aged 15 and under will be admitted free of charge to all stages.

Tickets went on sale at midday today (Friday) with the public able to purchase them from the Rally of Scotland’s official website rallyofscotland.com or by calling 0844 847 2488. The Rally of Scotland website also provides details of special stage start times and locations so fans can plan their weekend keeping up with the spectacular sideways action.

This year’s Rally of Scotland will take place on the weekend of 15-16-17 October. Its positioning on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge calendar makes it a crunch event for those still in the IRC title hunt while there’s also the strong likelihood of improved weather thanks to it being staged a month earlier than last year.

Reigning IRC Champion, Peugeot’s Kris Meeke (pictured above), Skoda’s Guy Wilks and Proton’s Alister McRae – very much the home hero – will be among the star-studded entry of world-class rally drivers chasing victory on the event that comprises some of the toughest and most exciting stages in UK rallying on daunting Scottish Forestry Commission tracks.

Set against a backdrop of truly stunning Scottish countryside through both Perthshire and Stirlingshire, the event also takes in some of country’s most historic landmarks including not just Scone Palace but also Stirling Castle, scene of the Ceremonial Finish.
