Three weeks left in race to wave the LMS chequered flag at Silverstone

With Mark Webber’s victory in last weekend’s British Grand Prix, British race fans will now be looking ahead to the next international car racing event at Silverstone – the Le Mans Series season finale.

The Autosport 1000Km of Silverstone will bring to a close the LMS championship and you still have the opportunity to play a vital part in the finale – waving the chequered flag at the end of the race, on Sunday, September 12.

To be in with a chance of winning this unique, money-can’t-buy opportunity, simply buy your tickets for the race weekend before July 31st 2010.

Every purchaser of tickets before that date will be entered into a free draw, with the winner bringing an end to the race AND spending the weekend (Sept 10-12) with top LMP1 squad, Audi Sport Team Joest.

With its blend of fast cars, glamorous women and vibrant party atmosphere, the climax of the action-packed series will see star names, such as Nigel Mansell, Anthony Davidson, Allan McNish, Giancarlo Fisichella and Nicolas Minassian do battle.

Audi Sport Team Joest lead driver, Allan McNish, said: “The Silverstone race is obviously very important to me as a British driver. I haven’t raced there since winning the corresponding race in 2008.

“It’s the final round of this year’s Le Mans Series and, having won the opening race and placing third in the second, we’re likely to be well-placed in the Championship standings despite not contesting some of the other races.

“The additional importance of this year’s Silverstone race is that it’s the opening round of the inaugural ‘Le Mans Intercontinental Cup’, which also features the Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta (USA) and an event on the Asian continent in November –both races which I’ll be contesting, so I’ll be looking for a points haul on ‘home’ soil.”
