IPSWICH have made a double change in a bid to move away from the foot of the Elite League.The Witches have released both Oliver Allen and Carl Wilkinson and signed Chris Slabon and Kozza Smith. Smith will double up with King's Lynn and Slabon hasn't raced in Britain in recent years.Witches Director Chris Louis said: "I'm sorry that it hasn't worked out forOlly and Carl but we couldn't just let the situation slide given our league position. We wish them both well and hope that they are soon fixed up elsewhere."

EDINBURGH moved nine points clear in the Premier League title race with a hard fought 54-41 win over Birmingham.Ryan Fisher was in stunning form with 17-points for the Monarchs and Jason Lyons notched 14 for the visitors, including a Heat 11 8-1 to keep them in the match.Monarchs promoter John Campbell said: "Monarchs deserved to win but Birmingham certainly fought for every point and made a match of it. Jason Lyons earned an invite to the Scottish Open next week with his performance."

BELLE Vue made a magnificent fightback after being 20 points down to lose 49-44 in an Elite League match at Lakeside. It gave them a league point for holding the Essex side to less than seven points. Ulrich Ostergaard, their recent Danish signing, led a brilliant recovery in the second half of the meeting to finish with 15 points which included three heat wins.Team boss Chris Morton said: "Ulrich was stunning and provided great entertainment. It looked as if we were falling apart early on but we came back for a point."
