Rounds 17-20: Bouley Bay, July 15 & Val des Terres, July 17Scott Moran closed to within one point of Nicholson McLaren MSA British Hill Climb Championship leader Martin Groves during the Channel Islands double-header at Bouley Bay and Val des Terres. Trevor Willis’s outright Bouley Bay record fell three times during round 17, with Moran, Groves and finally Willis himself cropping the previous marker.
Groves carried his form into round 19 at Val des Terres, where yet another record was established. However, disaster struck when he went straight on at the final bend during the penultimate run of the weekend. Taking full advantage was Moran, whose win eradicated almost entirely the points gap atop the championship standings.
