Link Up Ltd MSA British Autotest Championship

Round 5: Alwoodley MC Autotest, July 25

Alastair Moffatt clinched his third successive Link Up Ltd MSA British Autotest Championship title with victory in the Alwoodley MC Autotest. Richard Pinkney pushed Moffatt hard early on but dropped out of contention after a penalty due to mechanical failure. He later recovered to second place and the Sports Car Class spoils but it wasn’t enough to keep Moffatt – himself lucky to survive a driveshaft failure – from wrapping up the title.Rob Rolston took an easy Class win after an early bath for Howard Everingham, with Lee Valentine the best of the Novas in seventh overall. Mike Sones was the Special victor, while Brian Sharpe collected his first MSA Class win in the Road Going category aboard his Daihatsu Charade.
