A new face will be among the regular Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship drivers this weekend as Roman Berigoch joins the series with Antel Motorsport.
Russian-born Roman, 22, who is based in Silverstone, will make his Formula Renault debut during rounds seven and eight of the single-seater series which takes place at Norfolk’s Snetterton circuit on 31st July/1st August.
Racing for the remainder of the season with Antel Motorsport, Roman, who has worked his way up through the Russian karting scene, will join team-mates Matt Draper (London) and Danish driver Kasper Krogh.
Commenting on the new signing, Antel Motorsport Team Manager Julian Parris said: “Roman has been doing extensive testing with us at various circuits including Snetterton, Outlon Park and Rockingham and has shown good pace throughout, especially in the wet. He’s great to work with and has been learning a lot from driver coach Chris Hodgetts. He’ll be contesting the remainder of the season with Antel Motorsport and if things go well he’s hoping to move into F3 with us next year.”
Rounds seven and eight of the 2010 Protyre Formula Renault BARC Championship take place at Norfolk’s Snetterton circuit on 31st July/1st August. Fortec Motorsport’s Mitchell Hale (Bristol) currently leads the drivers’ standings (161pts) but only by a margin of five points from Hillspeed’s Alice Powell (Chipping Norton).
