Edmonson out for rest of season

Team Putoline Suzuki by fasteddyracing.com rider, Lee Edmondson, has today announced his withdrawal from competitive action for the remainder of the season, after being advised by doctors that his foot injury from last season has still not healed.

Edmondson, who returned from injury in May after breaking his metatarsal bones, finished runner-up only last weekend at the GBXC event on his RM-Z250, but having experienced discomfort with his injury, decided to seek further medical advice.

Lee explained, "I've really enjoyed being back on the bike since my accident last year, but my foot just didn't feel like it was improving so after this weekend's GBXC round I decided to see my consultant. He's taken another look and it seems that three Metatarsal bones are still broken so naturally I need to get this sorted, before I can even think about riding again."

Team manager, Paul Edmondson, commented,"We're all really gutted for Lee. He's ridden well since coming back from that nasty injury and as this weekend proved at the GBXC he's capable of challenging for wins again. However, the injury is bad and he simply can't afford to risk causing more damage, so we're unanimous in the decision for him to sit-out the remainder of the season."

The team will focus on this weekend's round five of the Metzeler British Enduro Championship at Dyf, where Paul Edmondson and Tom Sagar will be flying the Suzuki flag.
