Ohlin to make Porsche Carrera Cup GB debut
Swedish racer Martin Ohlin will join the 2010 Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Silverstone (21/22 August) as part of a planned three-event programme with the JHR team. The 28-year old Swede is currently challenging for the Carrera Cup Scandinavia title, but will now dovetail the race weekends at Silverstone, Knockhill and Brands Hatch with his domestic commitments.Ohlin will race alongside Mark Hazell in the JHR squad, which could grow to three cars if further backing can be secured to get Tom Bradshaw back onto the grid over the closing weekends of the season. Team manager Paul Leach says that they hope to grow the JHR Carrera Cup team to four cars for 2011.Ohlin, from Sollentuna in Sweden, is currently in his third season in Carrera Cup Scandinavia and is third in the points heading into this weekend's races at Karlskoga. He finished eighth and then sixth in the championship in 2008 and 2009."There are a number of Swedish drivers looking very strongly at doing Carrera Cup GB next season," said Leach. "We hope that this connection with Martin will lead to more Swedish drivers joining us. It is certainly our intention to run four cars next year."
