(SPEEDWAY 1)BIRMINGHAM were crowned Premier League Fours champions as the event made a hugely successful return to its spiritual home of Peterborough. The Brummies, led by skipper Jason Lyons, won their semi-final and were then the most consistent team in the Final which they won by six points from runners-up Edinburgh, with Somerset third and Sheffield fourth.Steve Johnston took the title-winning ride for the Perry Barr club, his third place in the penultimate race ahead of Edinburgh's Kalle Katajisto being enough to secure overall victory, and Richard Sweetman and Aaron Summers won two races apiece in the Final.Delighted Brummies boss Graham Drury said: "It was a great team effort from all the riders and I'm really proud of all of them."It's great to finally win a trophy this year after going so close in the Premier Trophy and the Premier League Pairs.
