WTCC duo to lend their support to Chevrolet Elaion Team in TC2000 Stellar Round
=Chevrolet WTCC drivers Alain Menu and Yvan Muller will take part in the 200 Kilómetros de Buenos Aires, the most prestigious round of the season of the TC2000, the highly-competitive Argentinean Touring Car Championship, on 5-7 November next. The two team-mates will drive the Chevrolet Vectras of the Chevrolet Elaion team, paired with their regular drivers, Guillermo Ortelli and Christian Ledesma, who has given the Vectra its first (and double) win of the year last week-end in La Rioja. The exact pairings will be announced in due course.
The 200 km of Buenos Aires, which takes place on the ‘Autódromo Óscar y Juan Gálvez’ of the Argentinean capital, is run on a double distance of the usual format of TC2000 races and hence, with two drivers sharing each car. Traditionally, guest drivers from around the world are invited to this event, which is the high point of the TC2000 Championship and attracts very big crowds.
Chevrolet WTCC drivers have been assiduously associated to the event in the recent past. Alain Menu has already participated four times in the event, always finishing on the podium and winning in 2006. For Yvan Muller, instead, this will be his first participation in the greatest South-American touring car race.
