Tony Jennings Classic Car Rally

Taking place on August 4th at BENs Town Thorns Care Centre, the Tony Jennings Classic Car Rally has been created in memory of the former Chairman of the Fellowship of the Motor Industry (FMI) who sadly passed away in January this year. His career spanned many decades in the motor industry and prior to retirement he was a Senior Director with the Rover Group, when the company was owned by BMW.  Tony was held in high regard within the industry and, particularly, by BEN on whose behalf he had been a ceaseless fund raiser. He would have been deeply moved by this initiative and in recognition of this his widow Julie will be attending the rally in honour of the tribute being paid to her late husband. The organisers are keen to see classic car owners supporting the event, which is open to the public, in numbers.Town Thorns is located on the outskirts of Easenhall, near Rugby where all cars will be on display from 11.30am until 4.00pm. The additional attraction of stalls, lunches, cream teas and a cash bar will make for a great family day out, especially with an entry fee of only 2 per person (free for under 16s). Proceeds from the day will go to support Town Thorns itself, a BEN care centre for people who have worked in the motor industry. If you are interested in putting your own classic or vintage car on display please contact BENs Peter Cottle on 07970 516305. As Peter himself said, By definition a classic car could be from any era so if you are proud of your E-Type Jaguar, VW Golf GTI Mk 1, Lotus Elan, Ferrari 250GT or car from any era then we would love to see it on August 4th. Entry for exhibitors is totally free of charge. We are also absolutely delighted that Tonys widow, Julie, will be joining us for the event  and has agreed to present the prizes at the end of the day.
