WOLVERHAMPTON star Tai Woffinden is targeting revenge over Elite League leaders Birmingham when the two teams clash at Monmore Green on Monday.Wolves went down to a heavy 33-57 defeat at Perry Barr last week, but can move back level on points with their West Midlands rivals with a convincing home win.Woffinden said: We need to get back winning again because there is still a lot of racing to be done between now and the end of the season and we need to get some revenge over Birmingham after our defeat there last Wednesday.Elsewhere, second-placed Swindon could end the night on top depending on results including their own at home to Kings Lynnwhilst Belle Vue pay tribute to the legendary Peter Craven in their Kirkmanshulme Lane clash with Coventry.

RICHIE Worrall scored a paid maximum from five rides to head up a powerful Newcastle performance in a 58-37 win over North-East rivals Redcar.The Diamonds, who have signed Swedish rider Anton Rosen as a replacement for the injured Christian Henry, dominated at home and are now just two points behind their opponents with four matches in hand.Newcastle boss George English said: After Redcar went down heavily the night before we had a feeling we were in for a tough match, and despite the final score it was a harder affair than that made it look, but again our lads dug in and made sure we took the points at the end of the night.Redcars defeat enabled Workington to take over at the top of the table despite dropping a point in a 47-44 win over Scunthorpe, Rene Bach scoring a paid maximum for the Comets.

RYE House kept up their impressive run of recent form with a 45-44 victory at Leicester to make it six wins in their last seven Premier League matches.The Rockets, who have youngster Jason Garrity back from injury this weekend, again saw recent signing Pontus Aspgren lead the charge with 14+1 from seven rides, whilst Tyson Nelson and guest Josh Grajczonek all contributed useful double-figure scores.Rye boss John Sampford said: It was a great performance, and a great victory. Not many visiting teams will win at Leicester this season.Pontus, Josh and Tyson were really the architects of the work, and the other points chipped in from elsewhere gave us what we needed to get the win.

DAVID Howe has suffered a broken arm and suspected broken wrist in a Longtrack crash in Poland.Howe had already made the decision to take time out of speedway, where he was riding for Scunthorpe, due to a loss of confidence.Scorpions promoter Rob Godfrey said: Its horrible for David. To have to make that difficult decision to take some time out of riding for the Scorpions, and then have a nasty crash on the same day is so unluckyits almost unparalleled in terms of sheer bad luck.
