Dutch historic series to make UK debut at Brands Hatch‏

The popular Dutch-based NK Historische Toerwagens and GTs series is set to make its UK debut as part of the Brands Hatch Masters Festival at Brands Hatch on May 24-26th.The series, which includes races at Zandvoort, Assen, Spa-Francorchamps and the Nurburgring, will race on UK shores for the first time with its eclectic mix of touring cars and GT cars built from 1947 to 1965. Grids including Chevrolet Corvettes, Ford GT40s, Jaguar E-types plus Lotus Cortinas and Austin Coopers have been a big hit with fans in mainland Europe as the series has gone from strength to strength.

The cars will race on the Grand Prix and Indy circuits as part of Masters Historic Racing’s annual visit to Brands Hatch. Events Manager Rachel Bailey said: “The NK Historische Toerwagens and GTs series is a great success and one that fans and competitors love. We have always had a strong Dutch group of competitors in our own races and this gives us a chance to give the Dutch racers more track time, a new venue and a great circuit on which to race. Most of the grid will be new to Brands Hatch so it will provide for great racing with a very varied grid of cars.”

NK Historische Toerwagens and GTs series manager Egbert Kolvoort said: “It is very exciting for us to come to Brands Hatch. It is a fabulous circuit and we look forward to racing in England and with Masters. We will have some interesting cars and will put on a good show for the fans.”

The Brands Hatch Masters Festival runs on May 24/25th with an additional Indy circuit date on Monday May 26th.
