Schumacher Benetton for Brands Hatch Masters Festival

The car that took Michael Schumacher to his first Grand Prix podium finish will be on display at this year’s Brands Hatch Masters Festival.

The German driver finished third in the 1992 Mexican and Brazilian Grands Prix in the John Barnard-designed Benetton B191, chassis number 06. The car was also raced by Nelson Piquet at the end of the 1991 season and by Martin Brundle in South Africa in 1992. Now owned by Zak Brown, the car is run by United Autosports and will form part of the static display of F1 cars at the annual Brands Hatch Masters Festival on May 24/25th.

Rachel Bailey, Masters Historic Racing Event Manager said: “This is a very significant car in the history of one of the all-time greats of Formula One. This ex-Michael Schumacher Benetton gives fans a chance to see another different constructor at Brands Hatch and a look at a part of Michael’s history before he became synonymous with Ferrari. We are very grateful to Zak Brown and United Autosports for the loan of the car and are sure that it will be popular with the fans.”
