Patterson notes for Irish edition of Tour Britannia

Competitors on the Irish edition of Tour Britannia will be able to use route notes supplied by Pattersons for the closed road stages in Ireland during the (13-15 May) event.‘Tour Ireland’ will start and finish in North Wales, and cross the Irish Sea for some closed-road stages in Ireland during the classic race and rally tour. To help crews on the closed road stages in the Wicklow area, which will include the famous Sally Gap stages, the organisers have arranged for Michael Patterson to supply notes for these stages. The initial plan is for Michael to include the Great Orme Marine Drive stage in the notes, which will be the first competitive section of the 2015 route. This will be aimed at giving newcomers to notes a chance to get a feel for the way they work before arriving in Ireland. The notes will be made available two weeks before the event and will come with a matching ‘in-car’ DVD so that both can be studied simultaneously.“Although it is possible to see most of the road ahead on the Irish stages, there are a few blind bends and the consensus is that it is safer to have notes,” said event organiser Alec Poole.Poole will be on hand at Autosport International at the Birmingham NEC to meet prospective competitors and answer questions on Tour Ireland (13-15 May) and Tour Britannia (2/3 October). He will be present on Thursday and Friday (8/9 January) and will be based on the HSCC stand number 6700 in Hall 6.To maintain the friendly atmosphere and camaraderie for which the event is renowned, entries will be limited and regulations and entry forms are now available from the event website: www.tourbritannia.com
