Risi Competizione Notes and Quotes Ahead Of Roar Before the 24

The No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari F458 Italia team spent the past couple of days at the Daytona International Speedway for the official Roar Before the 24 test days.

The Houston, Texas-based team was pleased to successfully complete their set up and driver performance checklist in preparation for the 53rd running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona, January 23-25, 2015.

Pierre Kaffer, along with Rolex 24 teammate, Italian Davide Rigon, completed five of six practice sessions over the two-day test, including a night practice stint.

Giancarlo Fisichella and Olivier Beretta will join Kaffer and Rigon in the cockpit of the popular Risi Prancing Horse for the twice-around-the-clock endurance classic at the superspeedway road course later this month.

Dave Sims, team manager, No. 62 Ferrari F458 Italia:

"The last two days have been very successful. The car set up has been right from the word go and has suited the car. A full stint today has proved the car consistent and absolutely right from beginning to end. The drivers are over-the-moon with the car. Pierre and Fisichella have the same set up so there's no question if he will like it, which is another bonus. We're going to load up and get on the road Sunday. We've got extensive work to do back at the shop in preparation for the race, which is coming upon us very quickly."

Rick Mayer, race engineer, No. 62 Ferrari F458 Italia:

"It seems like we're in pretty good shape as far as the lap times and other metrics on the timing. Obviously, everyone is holding back a little so hopefully we're in the window on that aspect. Our main driver, Pierre, is really happy with the car. Typically, the things you learn at Daytona are only beneficial for this track. With the chance of rain and only two sessions, we won't run Sunday."

Pierre Kaffer, driver, No. 62 Ferrari F458 Italia:

"I'm really happy to be back in the Risi Competizione car. Since Petit Le Mans, we've worked on the car over the winter time and out from the trailer here at Daytona, the car has been good. During our test sessions at the Roar we have developed our setup in the direction we like for the race. The car is very easy to drive and the team is getting used to everything again. It's always nice to have some time before a race like Daytona to get into rhythm again. We feel really comfortable after several test sessions. Davide did a very good job in the car. Unfortunately, he did not drive much last year in the race. And here this week, he was a bit unlucky with the red flags, but he is very reliable. I know him well and am looking very forward to driving with him and Olivier for the 24 Hours at Daytona."

Davide Rigon, driver, No. 62 Ferrari F458 Italia:"It's really nice to be here with Risi Competizione. From the first lap, I felt very good with the car and the team. They are really fantastic. For now, we are working well with the car and trying a lot of different stuff. This is my first time driving with my teammate, Pierre. As a whole team with Olivier and Giancarlo Fisichella, I think we are a really good crew. Let's hope it will continue like this and we'll continue preparing for the race in a few weeks."
