Vice champion Chadwick returns for Ginetta GT5 title bid

Multiple race winner re-signs with Xentek in British GT support seriesConfirms intention to combine Ginetta season with selected endurance events

Ollie Chadwick, the 2014 Ginetta GT5 Challenge Vice-Champion, is delighted to confirm his return to the ultra-competitive championship this year, after agreeing a deal to remain with successful squad Xentek Motorsport in a concerted challenge for the coveted title.

Having chalked-up an impressive tally of six race wins, eight other podiums, nine fastest laps and eight pole positions last season with the Xentek team, the Tetbury teenager will undoubtedly go into the new campaign as a firm favourite for the championship.

The 19-year-old, who away from the race track is studying Business Management at Bath, is also planning to combine his main championship bid with selected outings in endurance racing events during the course of 2015. Ollie, of course, tested GT4 and GT3 race cars during the autumn and made a very strong impression.

“I’m delighted to be back for 2015 in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge”, he said, “I thoroughly enjoyed my racing in the championship last year and I would thoroughly recommend the series to anyone for its big grids, close racing and great value for money – all on a prestigious package with British GT.

“It’s great to be working with the guys at Xentek again, who have always been 100% committed and supportive. Although the Ginetta championship will be my main focus, I also intend to compete in several endurance events and other possibilities are on the table. So, I’m expecting it to be a busy year!”

Xentek Motorsport, which is again set to field a three-car team in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge this year, is thrilled to continue its working relationship with Ollie and the team’s co-principal Nick Hart says going one better than in 2014 is the aim.

“We’ve known Ollie since he first sat in a racing car at 15 and we’ve seen him mature into a quick and dependable race winner”, said Hart, “He can be the consummate professional driver, on and off track, when called upon but he also has the passion and excitement of an ‘old school’ racer that the crowds love to watch. For both the team and Ollie, the title has to be the goal.”

Oulton Park International Circuit in Cheshire will host the opening event of the 2015 Ginetta GT5 Challenge season across Easter weekend, 4th/5th/6th April.
