COVENTRY boss Alun Rossiter is hoping to strengthen his side in the near future.Rossiter is still looking for his first win in charge of the Brandon club after seeing them slip to defeat at Eastbourne on Saturday.He said: "We are working and working, and hopefully I'm close to making asigning. I've been let down before this season but if I can get it confirmed I will announce it on Monday."

BERWICK are still in with a shout of winning their Premier Trophy group after a 52-39 win over Glasgow at Shielfield Park.Michal Makovsky was in fine form for a patched up Bandits side with 15 and Glasgow are awaiting further medical updates on Robert Ksiezak after aspectacular crash.Berwick boss Dave Peet said: "We had to make a hurried team for tonight and they all gelled perfectly together covering our stranded Bandits to gain us a good three Trophy points and put us right in there with a top chance of toppling Newcastle next weekend."

TOBIAS Kroner has managed to get to the UK in time to make his Belle Vue debut.Kroner has been signed as a replacement for the injured Charlie Gjedde andwill ride in the Elite League clash with Ipswich at Kirkmanshulme Lane.Chris Harris makes a guest appearance from Coventry.Aces boss Chris Morton said: "Kroner managed to get one of the last Eurostartickets and lives close enough in Germany to be able to get here."He is desperate to get into action for us after missing what would havebeen his debut at Coventry. Fortunately, his bikes were brought over last week before the volcano eruption started."

POOLE chief Matt Ford insists he is taking nothing for granted despite a brilliant start to the season.The Pirates face Coventry in their Wednesday night Elite League action at Wimborne Road.He said: "Of course I am very happy with the start we have made to the season but there are no prizes for being top of the league this year."Under the play-off rules this season all four qualifying sides have equalchance when the semi-finals come around and that is still a way off yet. Iam expecting a number of clubs to make serious changes over the next fewweeks or so. The hard work has yet to be done."

COVENTRY have signed Polish teenager Przemyslaw Pawlicki to replace the injured Christian Hefenbrock.Pawlicki, 18, will make his debut in the home Elite League clash with neighbours Wolverhampton on Friday, April 30.Bees boss Alun Rossiter said: "It's no secret that I've been looking to bring someone in, and although it's taken some time to finalise, Pawlicki was my first choice for this position."

GERMAN new boy Toby Kroner made a stunning ten-point debut as Belle Vue beat Ipswich 55-37 at Kirkmanshulme Lane on Monday night to move into second place in the Elite League.The Aces again defied having top riders stranded because of the ban on flights with guests Chris Harris and Simon Stead proving great choices as guests with 11 points each, a score matched by local boy James Wright.Kroner said: "I was very nervous but felt better as I settled in and made some good starts. It felt like an away meeting and I will do better when I've had a few more meetings on the track."

KING'S Lynn have booked Chris Schramm to cover for injured skipper Tomas Topinka in their Premier League clash with Sheffield on Wednesday.Topinka has suffered a broken fibula after a horrifying crash at Rye House alongside Luke Bowen on Saturday.Stars boss Rob Lyon said: "It is a blow for Tom to suffer the injury but it could have been much worse and I am sure the team will pull together tocover for him. Sheffield will be a tough meeting for us."
